Credit Transfer Policy

Scope: This policy applies to Training Ahead Australia VET students and employees.

Policy: This policy supports Standard for RTOs 2015 – Standard, Clause 3.5:

“The RTO accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by:

  • AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation, or
  • authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar.”

Students who complete nationally endorsed qualifications, skill sets and units of competency are able to have these recognised nationally across Registered Training Organisations. If a student completes the Credit Transfer Form and can provide authentic documentation, they will not be required to repeat any unit or module at Training Ahead Australia that they have already been assessed competent in, unless a regulatory requirement or licence condition (including an industry licensing scheme) requires this.

Before Training Ahead Australia can provide a credit transfer, a Training Ahead Australia employee will complete an authentication process which includes directly accessing a student’s USI transcript online or by contacting the organisation that issued the document to confirm the content is valid. In the case of any non-equivalent units of competency, Training Ahead Australia may complete an analysis to determine the equivalence of the study completed with the relevant units or modules before granting a credit.

How to apply for a credit transfer: Contact the office on 1300 355 900 or email bookings@trainingahead.com.au to request a Credit Transfer Form.
