Track Certification & Examination Recertification

Training Ahead is an approved training supplier of ARTC and offers the Track Certification & Examination recertification.

This recertification is for individuals wishing to renew the following RIWC job roles.

  • Track Certifier – National
  • Track Examiner – National

 

When can you book in your appointment?

Due to the differing recertification timeframes for individuals TAA remains flexible with safeworking recertifications.

Duration: 1 day (4 hours)
Cost (pp): $800
Location: Contact TAA directly for details on training location

Assessment Type: Theory assessment, practical observation and review of evidence portfolio

ARTC Track Certifier Recertficiation Currency (for all 4 units) or;
ARTC Track Certifier Recertification Currency – 3 units (for 3 units only)
Entry Requirements:

TAA Admission Requirements

Based on industry consultation and job role expectation as per the ARTC Safeworking Matrix, TAA has the following admission requirements:

Student must provide:

  • Statement of Attainments (or equivalent):
    • TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor
    • CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
    • TLIB0012 Maintain and use hand tools
    • TLID0020 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
    • TLIE1003 Participate in basic workplace communications
    • TLIF0025 Follow work health and safety procedures
    • TLIF2010 Apply fatigue management strategies
    • TLIU2008 Apply environmental procedures to rail infrastructure
    • TLIB2085 Apply Track Fundamental
    • TLIB3094 Check and repair track geometry
    • TLIB3095 Check and repair points and crossing
    • TLIB3099 Examine track infrastructure
    • TLIB3100 Visually inspect track infrastructure
  • Current Certificate of Achievement (not expired):
    • ARTC Track Examiner & Certifier Currency
When does the course expire: The ARTC Certificate of Achievement expire every 2 years. Recertifications can be completed through Training Ahead Australia.
What to bring and wear:

What to bring and wear

The practical will be completed in a simulated rail corridor and full PPE will be required. The following PPE is a mandatory requirement:

  • Work boots – ankle supportive, steel capped and lace up
  • Long pants
  • Orange long sleeve high visibility shirt or high visibility vest
  • Eye protection – safety glasses
  • Hard hat

If PPE is not provided, it can be purchased from the Training Ahead office for $40 (This includes a hard hat, vest, and safety glasses).

Assessment Type
  • Knowledge assessment
  • Practical demonstration & Evidence review
  • Provision of 3x pieces of evidence of you performing the relevant role(s)
    • The evidence must be from across the past 2 years with at least 1 piece of evidence being from within the past 6 months and must include:
    • Pre-work brief(s)
    • Sign on sheet
    • Diary notes/log
    • Any relevant handback, inspection or report form(s)

Training Ahead may, at their discretion, request additional evidence.

ARTC Track Certifier Recertficiation Currency (for all 4 units) or;
ARTC Track Certifier Recertification Currency – 3 units (for 3 units only)

You are required to bring photo ID, ideally, one of the following two types:

  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Passport
No Guarantee

Training Ahead does not provide any guarantee that:

  • A student will successfully complete a training product on its scope of registration; or
  • A student will obtain a particular employment outcome where this is outside the control of the RTO
Government Funded Training

This course is not eligible for government subsidies through Training Ahead Australia.
