HSR Refresher OHS Training Course – Plant – Victoria

The primary role of an HSR is to represent their co-workers’ occupational health and safety issues, concerns and interests.

Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67), all elected HSRs and deputy HSRs, after completing an initial course of training, have an entitlement for each year they hold office to attend a WorkSafe-approved HSR refresher OHS training course. An employer, if requested, must allow the HSR/Deputy HSR to attend on paid time, pay the cost of the course and any other associated costs. Section 67 also allows HSRs to choose the course, in consultation with their employer.

This course encompasses the following crucial aspects:

  • This WorkSafe-approved training course will assist the understanding of HSRs and Deputy HSRs in how they can effectively use their powers when participating in the identification, prevention and control of the risks associated with Plant (Machinery and Equipment).

There is no formal assessment for this course. To receive a certificate of attendance participants must attend the 1-day refresher course.

Participants will receive a WorkSafe Approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course – Plant Certificate of Attendance. This Certificate is issued by Training Ahead Australia.

TAA Admission Requirements

TAA requires all students to be 18 years of age or older.
When does the course expire: This course does not expire, as refreshers are optional to attend (We do offer HSR Refresher Training)
What to bring and wear:

Please attend in smart casual clothing.

Please ensure you were enclosed shoes.

This is not a nationally accredited training outcome delivered by Aakira Pty Ltd trading as Training Ahead Australia.

ID to Bring

You are required to bring photo ID, ideally, one of the following two types:

  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Passport
Government Funded Training

This course is not eligible for Government Subsidies through Training Ahead Australia.

No Guarantee

Training Ahead does not provide any guarantee that:
